It's time to Throw Down

The Sweet Corn Throwdown is only two days away!

In a shocking turn of events, Harvard pulled out of the competition only last Friday. But the show is going on. We have plenty of fun planned for the day, which will be capped off by the announcement of the winners in the MARENGO VS. MARENGO SWEET CORN THROWDOWN!!!!

Competition will be stiff, for sure, with multiple entries in all five categories. I hope our judges come to the table good and hungry.

If anyone else is hungry, I'm pleased to report that Cody's Farm Fresh Vegetables will be selling roasted sweet corn and hot dogs. All of this will happen to the accompaniment of live music by Cassandra Vohs-Demann. We're also holding a book signing with local author Hilda Creasy, plus plenty of other fun & games, so there's lots to see and do (even if Harvard did CHICKEN OUT).

See you there this Saturday, August 23. "Gates open" at 11am, music and judging begin at noon.
